Chicken Burgers are unbelievably flavorful and juicy! Make them on the stove or the grill! They’re made with just a handful of simple, yet bold ingredients and hassle-free steps.
Mix the chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and salt together just until combined.
Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts and form each part into a patty.
Heat a large skillet over low-high heat and coat the bottom with cooking oil.
Add three patties to the pan at a time and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until each side forms a light crust.
Remove them from the pan and let the excess oil drip off on a plate fitted with a paper towel.
Repeat the cooking process with the remaining uncooked patties.
Allow the patties to rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
Spread the mayonnaise on each side of the toasted burger buns, then layer on a few pieces of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a cooked patty, a slice of cheese and then the top bun.
Instructions for Grilling:
Spray the grate on an electric grill with non-stick spray or brush with olive oil, then heat the grill to low medium heat.
Once hot, add the patties to the grill and cook on each side for 3-4 minutes, or until each side forms grill marks and a light crust.
Rest for 3-4minutes before serving.
Notes
NOTE: The secret to a juicy chicken burger is to not over-work the meat, and also not to over cook it. When mixing the burgers together, only mix just until combined and do so gently. Then, use a meat thermometer to make sure the meat is cooked through to 165 degrees and pull immediately off the pan or grill to prevent overcooking.
