I made this exactly as written in the crockpot for a nice relaxing Sunday dinner. For something so easy to put together with minimal ingredients it was very tasty. We topped ours with fresh grated parmesan cheese and served with a Asiago loaf of bread. Thanks SO much for sharing your recipe, I will be making this over and over.

I have made this now dozens of times. Adding extra veggies I love like carrots or green beans, also cooked beef, chicken or pork. NOTHING added to this recipe can ruin it. (Actually fresh broccoli and cauliflower weren’t good choices.) I have a tender stomach and GERD and I can always count on this being soothing without bad affects. All season staple!!!

In reply to B. I would recommend dill and bay leaf. Dill gives it the Campbell’s soup flavor which I love.
