So so good. I have made this recipe twice now and it’s a hit each time. I split the chocolate chip recipe to be 1/2 mini semisweet and 1/2 dark chocolate – so so good.

I have made a lot of banana breads and this was the best! So delicious. Added a few chopped walnuts and it was a family hit.

Amazing! Super moist and spongy bread! I used my King Arthur tea loaf pan and baked it for about 40 minutes. Couldn’t be happier with the result! Saving and sharing this recipe!

Very good! I doubled your recipe BUT instead semi sweet chocolate chips, I added of 1/2c milk chocolate chips and 1/2c chopped pecans and 1 tsp cinammon. This made 2 9X5 loaves.
Freezes very well!

Great recipe I substituted the sour cream for banana yogurt which balances out the chocolate chips so it’s nots so chocolaty and it still has a banana flavor. Also because the chips increase the sugar I lowered the sugar to 1/2 cup + 1/4 cup brown sugar. Grandkids #1 request.

I am a realtively accomplished, self taught home baker. I know the science that goes into baking and I practice with different recipes a lot. I have been baking banana bread regularly for 12 years. I want to say that this is HANDS DOWN the best recipe I’ve ever tried. I will never use another recipe.

In reply to Judi.

My technical analysis of this recipe: FREAKING AMAZING!!!

Seriously, this is dense and moist and super chocolatey. Like another commenter, I cut back a little on sugar and actually swapped in some brown for white sugar because I was out! One other modification, I swapped in a little mashed cottage cheese for some of the sour cream.

I’m done searching for banana bread recipes from now on!

Literally in love with this recipe! I cut a little bit of the sugar out (use about 3/4c) and I sometimes even make them into muffins! Just bake them for 20 minutes instead.
